"The program doesn't start by telling a young person who to become. It starts by asking who they are already ready to be."

THE I WILL BE PROGRAM

A 16-Week Identity Development Curriculum for Youth Ages 12+

“The i you were given. The I you choose.”

The I Will Be Program — Introduction

The I Will Be Program is founded on a single belief: young people are carrying weight that was never theirs to carry alone.

That weight comes from the personas they hold — titles and identities that have been assigned to them, inherited without consent, or adopted before they had the awareness or the capacity to examine them fully. Son. Troublemaker. The responsible one. The forgotten one. Provider. Problem. Each persona arrives with its own set of responsibilities, judgments, and directions — and most young people are managing several at once, often without realizing it.

There is a natural progression to a person's life. Some titles come with living — with age, with relationship, with responsibility — and growing into them is not a burden. It is part of becoming. A young person who becomes a parent, an older sibling, a provider — these are roles that carry weight, but weight that belongs to them. The program honors that. There are titles a person must own, and the work of owning them is part of what shapes character.

But not every title that lands on a young person belongs to them. Some were placed there by circumstance, by other people's limitations, by environments that had nothing to do with who that young person actually is. And those titles carry their own directions — their own pull on how a person thinks, decides, and moves through the world.

The program is designed to put young people in a mindset to examine every title they carry and honestly come to terms with whether it fits. Because the real weight is not just the having of these personas — it is the conflict between them. When the directions being handed down by different identities point in opposite ways, a young person does not simply feel confused. They feel torn. And a person who is being pulled apart cannot move forward with any real intention.

The I Will Be Program does not tell young people who to be. It gives them the structure to figure that out for themselves — to hold each identity up to the light, grow fully into what belongs to them, and set down what does not — so they can begin building a self they have actually chosen.

THE FOUR PHASES

01

Identity & Titles  Weeks 1–4

Young people name every title they carry — chosen and inherited — and decide which ones they own and which they set down. They make a public, written commitment to what ownership requires.

02

Relationships & Mindset  Weeks 5–8

Participants examine how the people around them shape or limit who they are becoming. Covers perception, objectivity, and the mind-body loop — surfacing how their thinking patterns protect or distort their identity.

03

Habits & Environment  Weeks 9–12

What are they actually building day to day? Participants examine resilience, family communication, and how their environment reinforces or undermines who they say they are.

04

Legacy & Personal Framework  Weeks 13–16

Each participant builds and presents their Personal Framework: their titles, motto, regulation tool, habit, leadership action, legacy direction, and I Will Be statement — presented to the group at Week 16.
